That awkward moment when Loki gets Loki’d.
^ Haha, LOKI’D.
Everyone things Natasha won this one but really, Loki did… Because them treating Banner like a caged animal pissed him off and then, you know, the explosion just made it worse and then he turned into the Hulk. So really, Loki ended up getting what he wanted.
^THIS. Thank you so much for pointing this out. I agree, I think Natasha was fantastic here, but she did not end up defeating him, seeing as exactly what he wanted to happen ended up happening anyway thanks to his “slip-up.” penandpage made a fantastic post about this a while ago, how he seems to snap a little too quickly, how by revealing his plans he makes them come to fruition, and if you notice here, he doesn’t even seem bothered that he’s been “played,” just confused that she thinks he has. Again, Natasha is an amazing manipulator, but Loki is THE manipulator, the god of lies, and he’s been at it for millennia. So yeah, I always get a bit confused whenever people think that he got played here.
That time Peter Parker was trained by Natasha Romanoff.
Of course. You don’t think Steve and Tony would hire just any martial arts teacher for their son, do you?
Swear to god, I love this fandom so much it hurts. We’re just like “fuck it, we do what we want” and BOOM headcanons resound throughout our perfect world. Most agreeable fandom on tumblr.
THIS ALL THIS ^^^^^
A.U. pre-Avengers [sort of] where the SHIELD agents have a favourite bar where they all hang out after work or missions: darts game (highscore owned by the Hawk), guns and lethal weapons under every table, a cocktail named after Fury (whiskey+cinnamon+orange), karaoke… And after a nth mission together where Natasha saved the life of a dozen of SHIELD members, Clint and the few grams of alcohol in his blood pay a vibrant tribute to her, the other agents considering now Nat’ as a real member of the agency and no more as an ex-KGB spy.
btw, thanks to Bex :)
AU Avengers: Budapest, 4 years ago
Natasha and Clint are tasked to intercept a dangerous package that is expected to be passing through Budapest’s famous Parliament Building. All hell breaks loose when Clint is made while attempting to retrieve the package. Natasha goes in, guns blazing, to save him and they flee the scene together while being chased by hundreds of parliament guards and policemen. In the end, they barely escape after blowing up half of District V and have to lay low overnight before S.H.I.E.L.D. can extract them. With adrenaline coursing through them, the two agents let their emotions take over and spend the night together. In the morning, they make their way to the extraction point, both questioning whether sleeping together was a good decision. They mutually decide that what happens in Budapest stays in Budapest and they go their separate ways.

Agent Barton was sent to kill me.
He made a different call.
BUDAPEST, by director Joss Whedon, executive producer J. J. Abrams, with Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff.
“Your mission was to intercept the target, Agent Barton. Not to fall in love with it.”
“I pull the trigger, I make the calls.”
“You and I remember Budapest very differently.”
